Brad and I collaborated on this Hatch poster a while back but I found it posted on Gigposters just recently. We brainstormed, I carved, he typeset. It worked out. 

They were actually pretty incredible in concert, not to mention adorably in love. If you haven't seen the movie Once yet, go rent it.

Ann, you better update on here and let us/me know how hanging out with Mr. Hosford this week goes, since he's your visiting artist and all. I actually reminded him as he was headed out the door on Thursday to tell you hello and how much I missed you. I said "Her last name is Flowers, she draws alot of rainbows, she'll find you. "

treading water...trying not to drown

I don't what it is about this semester but, i feel like my life just doubled in speed and i was completely caught off guard.

I feel like the boat i'm riding suddenly burst into speed, spilling me in the ocean, and I'm just treading water watching the boat leave me behind.


I need to learn to tread water better, so i can wait for the coast guard. Does a unit even exist here in Peoria?

Hey guys. Jer gave me the heads up, so this is my first post. Things are going well in Cali. Having to swear myself to secrecy keeps me from showing anyone anything, unless it makes it to finish. So, I'm happy to share with you this piece that I worked on. Look for it in the coming weeks:



This poster isn't 100 percent good to go, because it was leaked. I dare not upload the finished one. Anyway, good to see people's stuff. Jer and Adrienne, looking forward to more sketchbooks. Good luck with the grad schools Adrienne, I , however, have no help to offer.

I decided last night that I need to start being serious about my grad school research. Until now I have flirted with the idea, gotten lots of pretty packets in the mail, but haven't made any serious commitment about looking at the pros and cons of each program. 

Since I know a few people are here are gradschool experienced, any suggestions about how I should go about making decisions would be extremely helpful. 

I think I want my grad degree to be in Printmaking/Book Arts/Papermaking but I want a school that has a working letterpress area. I'm also interested in Museum Studies....so....I need to make up my mind and.or figure out how to do ALL of that at once. If I'm going back to school, I'm definitely planning on making it worth it. (obviously)

I'm back with a brand new invention!

This is a blog by Ann Flowers. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to say that so abruptly but it's true! It's me!
Jerry and Adrienne have done an amazing job with this blog and then I went and messed it up by never posting here. Sorry, guys! Ya'll are great.
But now I have a blog I'm maintaining so I figure I can work on both, right? I'll give it a go.

The image above is some new work. I love working on manilla envelopes. They make a great shape. They sort of look like houses and I dig houses right now.

Mid-America Print Council 2008: Fargo

So it's the final night of MAPC 2008: Fargo and I must say that it was by far the smallest conference I've been too, but I had a blast never-the-last. I have met so many people and particularly other students. The Herron School of Art kids are pretty awesome.

SGC is going to be pretty awesome. There are going to be so many people I'm going to remember.
